RGV Dynamics Folklórico Dance Competition Rules and Regulations
1. Eligibility
Open to dance studios, school groups, and community folklórico organizations. Age divisions: Pre-K through 12 Grade.
Directors/Coaches are responsible for registering their groups.
2. Divisions & Categories
Solos – 3 minutes max
Duets/Trios – 3 minutes max
Small Ensembles (4–6 dancers) – 5 minutes max
Medium Ensembles (7–12 dancers) – 10 minutes max
Large Ensembles (13–20 dancers) – 15 minutes max
Cuadros (20+ dancers) – 20 minutes max
3. Registration
All entries must be completed through the official registration platform. Registration fees must be paid in full by the deadline. Late registration is only accepted with director approval and late fees. All fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by RGV Dynamics.
4. Music Submission
All music must be uploaded to the registration platform before the deadline. Backup copy must be provided on an iPad or electronic device. All music must be appropriate for family audiences. Studios/Teams are responsible for obtaining rights or licenses for copyrighted music. RGV Dynamics is not liable for copyright violations.
5. Costumes and Props
Costumes must be traditional, authentic, and respectful of cultural heritage. Costumes must be age-appropriate and family-friendly. Props must be declared in advance for approval. Dancers are responsible for bringing and removing props in a timely manner.
6. Performance Guidelines
Teams must check in at least 1 hour before scheduled performance. Dancers must be prepared to perform when called. Directors must ensure dancers understand floor patterns, spacing, and formations. Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification. No outside food or drinks allowed in the venue.
7. Liability
RGV Dynamics LLC, staff, judges, and affiliates are not responsible for injuries, property loss, or damages before, during, or after the event. Participation is voluntary and at the risk of the director/team.
8. Dispute Policy
All disputes must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the event. All judging decisions are final and may not be appealed.
